Media in Salzburg

During the last years the social transformation processes (catchwords: digitalisation, globalisation) and its consequences, in particular on the media sector, have accelerated.

Indeed, the conventional audio-visual media such as television and radio, film and cinema, and the print media like newspapers and weekly papers, magazines and glossies, are still dominant: At the same time you have to state that the increase of possibilities associated with the Internet on production side, distribution side and reception side have revolutionised the world of media.

The media scene of Salzburg shows in comparison to the other federal states (except for Vienna), especially on the print sector, an economic and possibly also journalistic/publicist concentration.
