The Salzburg news (SN, Salzburger Nachrichten) rank, in addition to the “Press“ and the “Standard“, among the most famous Austrian newspapers. The newspaper is available from Monday to Saturday.

Editor in chief is Manfred Perterer since July 1, 2006, his predecessor was Ronald Barazon who managed the SN from 1995 to 2006.

The Salzburg News (SN) is a national Austrian newspaper with a distribution main focus in the federal state Salzburg. According to Austrian media analysis, two thirds of the SN readers are located in the federal state Salzburg. For this readership the SN is the first provider of information, analysis and comment. For the readership beyond Salzburg, these are about 100.000 persons, the SN play an important role as a medium which shows alternative and complementary points of view, above all, in the fields of politics, economy, science and culture. Above all, the indisputable regional information competence is also increasingly noticeable in the web portal salzburg.com.

According to Austrian media analysis it reaches in Salzburg 200.000 of its total 294.000 readers (4,3 percent coverage). This proves a coverage of 46,1 percent in the federal state Salzburg. According to Austrian edition control (ÖAK) the SN has a print edition of 95.056 pieces.

The SN is a member of the co-operative Austrian Press Agency (APA).
